Evil Ed - High Life (Remix)/Playin' The Game 7" (Review)

Updated: Oct 16, 2020

Evil Ed - High Life (Remix)/Playin' The Game 7" (Edstrumentals #3) [EDSTR003]

The legendary UK beatsmith Evil Ed drops the latest in his Edstrumentals collection.

Side A's High Life Remix is a beautiful, dreamy loop coupled with Evil Eds trademark drums which could have easily been plucked straight from his early 2000's archives. When you just hear the beat, the track has an underlying melancholic tone, which is a fitting tribute to Joey Deez. Long time fans will recognise that the beat was initially used in 2017 as a remix of Remulak's "High Life" featuring M9 and Skriblah Dan Gogh.

Side B see's Ed dip into the vaults once more to add one of his favourite Edstrumentals - "Playin' The Game" which is a brilliant jazzy piece from his 2004 album "The Enthusiast" and features some lovely sax work from Ben Cooke.

This is a great little collectors piece, released with a generous amount of the proceeds going to a good cause. Please support this if you can.

Limited EDition of 300 copies on black 7" vinyl - can be purchased or downloaded digitally from the following link: https://eviled1.bandcamp.com/

10% of the proceeds from the vinyl sales and 100% from digital sales will be donated to Audio Active, a charity chosen by friends and family of Joey Deez.

These will sell out fast so grab one today to support a beautiful cause.
