Local Healers & Louis Cypher - Paintings On The Wall EP (Review)

Notts duo Local Healers (Nay Loco & Ty Healy) team up with long time associate and fellow Notts native Louis Cypher to wax lyrical over dreamy beats by Faux Sala on their brand new EP - Paintings On The Wall.

Production by: Faux Sala

Recommened Tracks:

Water 4 Flowers

Belgian producer Faux Sala has cooked up some lavish, jazz infused Boom Bap beats full of dreamy, swaying loops, smacking drums, stabbing guitar licks and delicate rolling piano's to set the stage for the Notts triptych to flex their lyrical acumen over. The EP is a bit of a War Cry for the creative community to stand up and continue doing what they do best in times of uncertainty, everlasting Government cuts to funds for the Arts and the absolutely ridiculous notion of the "Rethink.Reskill.Reboot" initiative.

In my absolutely unbiased opinion...In Notts we've got the best accent for Hip Hop throughout the UK, yet despite the similarities in tonality each Emee stands out and holds their own, you can feel that there was a bar set for the project as each performer tries to reach and raise that bar, track after track. The chemistry between Nay Loco & Ty Healy is already well documented as the duo now release their 3rd project together but when you add Mr Cypher Sore Eyes himself, Louis Cypher into the mix you get a whole other dimension added to the project, his style compliments the duo's so well and is a more than welcome addition. The EP is really enjoyable and each Emcee has bars for days, it's thought provoking, it's fun, it's a banger for sure.

This is 100% a work of Art, from the Heart.
