(Britcore Rawmance/Burning Anger Records - August 2020)
Originally based in South London and now living on the South Coast, Whirlwind D started his Hip Hop career as a B Boy and writer in the early 80's before taking up emceeing later in the decade. Now, with over 25 years in the game the veteran has recently dropped his 3rd solo offering "Original Breaks To B-Lines" while this is not brand new material, it is all previously unreleased and is a showcase of his talent from the early 90's up to the last 10 years or so.

Dirty, crackling breaks, absolutely filthy sub' shattering bass lines and no holds barred, machine gun delivery from the pioneer, this is a real throwback to the early Britcore sound which paved the way for practically everything which has come out of the UK since. Whirlwind D shows that he still has the hunger and heart of a youngster while showing maturity, finely tuned craftsmanship and above all, an undying passion for the art form. It hits me with an overwhelming tidal wave of nostalgia to hear this style of timeless production and the relentless onslaught of words being released in 2020. What makes this even more enjoyable though is that this is 100% legit, it's not a parody or someone paying homage to the past. This is one of the more unique releases to come out of our scene this year.
Don't miss out.
Whirlwind D is one of the pioneers of the early UK scene and with more than 25 years in the game under his belt, he isn't seeking your respect anymore, he's outright demanding it.
