"Synesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway..."

Blackpool born, Hip Hop raised and currently residing in Manchester - Jaroo has linked up with his adoptive hometown producer, Mankub for their new head-nodding, bass throbbing, Boom Bap banger - "Synesthesia"

Guest Features:

Amos

Blu

DJ P-Nuts

Recommended Tracks:

Rat & Spider

One Love

Double It

This Thing

Jaroo remains thoroughly focused here as the content delivered was written around a turbulent period in his life. He rides the beats with ease and agility while being flexible with the flows and delivering a diverse range of subject matter. The album is a mixed bag content wise but there's something for everyone, raw raps, braggadocious bars and some emotional storytelling that shows Jaroo as a very versatile emcee. The album proves not only to himself but to others too, that if he can do it this well when at his worst then nobody can fuck with him at his best.

Mankub absolutely kills the beats here, there's so much atmosphere and ambience and heavy bass packed into the tracks it's unreal, add that to his choice of drums and individual drum fills within the tracks and you get such an ear pleasing project which really stands out on a decent system. He's also got a great ear for samples too and as he dices them up with such care and clarity.

There's only two guest emcee's featured but sometimes less is definitely more - I love the chemistry between Amos and Jaroo as they go back to back on "Rat & Spider" while the contrast in tone, style and delivery on "This Thing" with Westcoast legend Blu really works, the beat is phenomenal and DJ P-Nuts provides some really slick cuts for the hook.

Highly recommended...
